Strawberries are in season and there’s nothing more refreshing and delicious to make with fresh strawberries than homemade strawberry lemonade!
I used some organic lemons in this recipe too, and it was so quick and easy to make!
Homemade Strawberry Lemonade
This recipe is great for using ripe, fresh and seasonal strawberries but you can also substitute it with fresh raspberries, blueberries, passion fruit or other seasonal fruit of your liking.
The recipe basically consists of making a lemon syrup with fresh lemons and then adding some pureed strawberries to the mixture. Simple or what?
The inspiration from this recipe comes from the blog GiveRecipe.com, which called for some mint leaves to be used in the lemon syrup. But next time I’d keep them out because I found that the mint overpowered the flavor of the strawberries a bit, and only add them at the very end as a garnish. But it’s totally up to you!
This strawberry lemonade is best served super chilled over ice. You can of course make it alcoholic by adding your favorite tipple over the ice like Vodka, Cachaça, White Rhum, Tequila or similar spirits that would blend well with the strawberry and lemon flavors.
In fact, I’m thinking you could easily turn this lemonade into a large pitcher of Strawberry Mojito with just a few tweaks. YUM! 😉
Anyways, whatever you decide, this recipe is a winner for all those hot summer days!
